Good Afternoon my friends! It has been awhile since I posted anything. It appears I am the only one who reads my blog anyway.........as I get very few comments.
I wanted to share a project today. I found this tray at Goodwill, it was an ugly brown with a picture of grapes and wine. I am not a grape and wine kind of gal, so that had to go.
Firstly I spray painted the whole tray with a glossy black. Then I modge podged some scrap book paper, and sealed it with a sealer. It was a very simple project but I do like how it turned out. The scrapbook paper was still drying when I took this photo. So the paper has some bubbles, but once it dries it will all go away.
Hi Susan, good find Some people find great pieces at Goodwill. I have gotten a few things there and altered them. You mentioned that you don't get many comments. I didn't see that you are linking to any of the great link parties on the web.
ReplyDeleteLove the shape of the tray and the paper you added is really pretty! I hope you don't stop blogging, I try to read and comment as I can these days. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
That looks great, Susan! Remember when grapes and wine things were all the rage? I might have had quite a few "grape" things myself! The tray looks nice painted black and the paper mod podging was a great idea. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteps. Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season so far.
Susan, I have never actually used modge podge, but remember pinning a sort of 'go-to' guide for the various kinds for different crafts. I love it when I see a homely piece turned chic - nice job!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out very nice! I'm sure it really beats the wine and grapes style! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Susan, love your tray makeover. It turned out so wonderful. Mod Podge works wonders doesn't it?? Love the black and adding the paper makes it perfect.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying the Christmas season.
Thank you for stopping by and your dear sweet comment. Your words were so special and I am encouraged by your comment. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas filled with many blessings.
Hugs xo
