I posted the finished product of this tray yesterday.  I wanted to post it from start to finish and how I am using it in my home.

Here is the photo of the before. As you can see it has the ugly grape and wine design.


Next I spray painted it a glossy black:


Then I mod podge the scrap book paper on the inside of the tray. The bubbles did come out after the paper dried. I also sealed it with a spray sealer.



This is how I decided to use it in my home. I am using it to coral all the little things on my kitchen table. Warning! This is subject to change at any moment and with season to season.

  1. Very pretty! I think it turned out great! I never think to just paint over something like that...I have to keep that in mind when I'm shopping around.
