Shopping Hauls, Yard Sale Finds and Projects!

Good Evening my friends. I thought I would do this post as I will most likely not feel like being on the computer after tomorrow. Continue to pray for me, my surgery is tomorrow morning. It rained here all week end because of Hurricane Sandy. I hope all my northern friends will be safe and get through this storm. I am praying for every one. I went shopping to stay busy and keep my mind off my health. I thought I would share some of my purchases. I purchased other things, but I generally just share home decor here on my blog. I also wanted to share my projects. I did several this weekend as part of my therapy. Hope you enjoy! Marshalls I love the trim on these two little hand towels. I would have bought the complete set if they had the bath towels and clothes. They just had the hand towels and they were in the clearance section.
ROSS This bowl will be used as part of my Christmas decor and I will continue to use it after Christmas. I love the gold and brown together and it looks glittery.
KIRLAND HAUL I love glitter and I was so excited to find this Christmas glitter bird. I plan to buy about two more of these before Christmas. This bird also gave me and idea for a project. I plan to go to the Dollar Tree and purchase some birds. I will experiment with glittering with those birds. If I fail, well they would be just a dollar.
I absolutely love anything beaded. These will match my brown Christmas decor. I plan to put my brown decorations in the family room, sun room and dining room and foyer this year. I generally decorate with the red in those rooms.
This pear candle holder was in the clearance section at Kirkland's. It matches beautifull with the teacup and saucer below.
YARD SALE FINDS! This metal tea cup and saucer was an ugly ivory when I purchased it. I spray painted it with my beloved rubbed oil bronze. It really made a difference. It is fairly large I have a medium size candle inside the cup.
These two rooster plates were a dollar each. They will go very nicely with my collection of roosters.
FAMILY DOLLAR HAUL These two little bird pictures are so cute. However the white frames will not work in my house with all white walls. I will paint them oil rubbed bronze or maybe a spring color I have decided as of yet.
This red runner looks kind of tacky. It has cherubs or something attached on each end. Those will definitely come off, I will use them for other projects. The runner will be used at Christmas.
PROJECTS! I have changed my fall projects to making some Christmas things. I have had this fabric forever. I don't remember where I got it, most likely at a thrift store or yard sale. It just the right size for a king size pillow case. The lace trim at the bottom was already on the fabric. I decided to embroider some Christmas designs. I don't know who owns these designs. If you recognize your design work, please let me know and I will give you full credit. I love my embroidery machine and I take advantage of the freebie designs that I can down load from the internet.
These two lace purses were made from a young girls cape. It probably came from Forever 21 or someplace similar. I purchased at a yard sale. I just cut it up and made these purses. I used the trim that was along the bottom of the cape for the trim on the purse. The only thing I added to the small purse was some ecru lace and a fabric flower.
I am huge fan of the copper color. I bought this cigar box at a yard sale for 50 cents. I bought some glittered scrap booking paper and some glittered and beaded flowers at AC Moore, the other things I had in my stash.

Yard sale, Shopping and Projects!

Good Afternoon! I had to get out of the house this morning to get my mind off all the negative junk going on with me. So, I needed to pick up paint from Home Depot,so that gave me a good excuse to go out. Well of course right across the street from Home Depot is Michaels and Home Goods. They were calling to me "Come shop, Come shop". As a mental health therapist I know not listen to the voices in my head,,,,,,,,,,,,but come on now you would listen to them too! I wanted to share some good things I have been up to: My awesome vintage lace find, My shopping hauls, and My projects! Hope you enjoy! Yard Sale Find! This piece of gorgeous lace must have been part of an old dress!
There were 8 of these black neckline laces in this packet!
There is almost a yard of this lace. My creative juices started flowing when I found this little goodie in the packet.
How beautiful is this vintage doily? How lucky I was to get four of these dainty lace doilies.
Projects! I made this purse out of some scrap materials I had. I added lace, and some vintage doiles. The animal print fabric flower came off a head band I bought for a dollar at the Family Dollar. I have been considering an Etsy shop to try to sell my lace purses and pouches etc. Do you think these are of good enough quality to sale on Etsy? I will have to delay this right now with everything that is going on. Maybe when I am healed and feeling better I could give it a try!
This birdhouse was a yard sale find several weeks ago. It is a large birdhouse, and it was not painted or decorated. I decided to give it a Christmas twist, I painted it using the Martha Stewart Copper penny color on the roof. On the bottom of the house, I just used Linen color craft paint. After the paint dried, I applied Modge Podge to the room and the body. I sprinkled copper colored glitter on the roof. On the body of the house I sprinkled a fairy dust glitter. I let all that dry and then applied the decorative flowere and the bird. You may recognize the bird it was a yard sale find from back in the summer. Also ,you will probably remember that blogger was messed up and posted the picture of this bird extremely huge. I had to delete that whole post in order to correct the problem.
Home Goods! I kind of have fleur theme going on in my Master Bedroom! This one actually is going to hung in the toilet closet of the Master Bath. I thought I should carry the theme into the bathroom in some way!
You guys know I am a candle kinda girl! I can not resist buying candles when I am out gallivanting Home Goods! Both of these candles were on clearance which makes even better! The gold one is a flameless candle, it was 4.00 and the little one smells so good you could almost eat it!
These sachets were one of the "I gotcha" items they place for impulse purchases just before you check out. I had not seen these with the hangers. They are the perfect thing for your closets. I have made my own closet sachets, but these smell yummy!
Home Depot If you have never tried the Martha Stewart specialty paints, I would highly recommend them! I went to Home Depot today as part of my shopping escape. I picked up all these paints. I have a project in mind for the copper penny color. I am going to paint a small side table that color. The other colors I don't know what I am going to do with them just yet,but rest assured I will find a project to use them.

Beautiful Sunset in South Carolina

In the nine years in South Carolina, I have never seen a sun set this beautiful. Even over the ocean. This photo was taken out on our patio. The sky was so red when you saw it through the trees it looked like the forest was on fire! I am not saying God favors me, but I truly believe God gave me this beautiful sunset to let me know I was going to be alright. This sun set happened the evening I was diagnosed. That may seem silly to some, but it brought me peace!

My Results! I am in the Pink!

Hello my friends. mo As most know I have been having some health issues. How ironic is that this month is breast cancer awareness month and I find out today I have it! I won't be posting anymore on this blog about my illness. I want to keep this blog positive and upbeat. I will probably , most likely start another blog about my disease. I am believing that God is watching over me, and will help me through this journey. Susan
