Vignettes in the Family Room
Hello Friends!
My oh my it seems its been forever ago since I have posted a new post on my blog. But today I thought I would share a few of the vignettes I have in my family room. I generally stick to the jewel or earth tones in this room.
I hope every one had a blessed week! Hope you enjoy!
Fire place Mantle!
I found the large picture hanging above the fire place at Kirkland's. It was on clearance for a steal! The candlesticks are yard sale finds, I have had them for years. The orbs on the candlesticks are from Ross.
I added the two little candle votive's for some sparkle appeal. The two transferware plates I found at a yard sale several years ago. I needed some femininity to this masculine display , so I added the two little hydrangea planters.
Entertainment Center
I did a happy dance when I found this large carved wood bowl at Goodwill. I have been looking for one for a long time.
The other two pieces on the entertainment center are from Kirkland's.
Credenza
I started this vignette with my burlap table runner. Then I added the basket and lined it with a lace doily. Inside the basket, I placed two burlap sachets that were meant for Christmas and a brown Christmas ornament. I know Christmas is over but I needed some sparkle in this display. The plate is a English country scene, and I just thought it was pretty addition. At the left of the basket I added a bird that I found at Tuesday Morning.
I added the bottle with feathers. Then I placed a tall skinny lamp at the end of the credenza.
As you can see I kept with a sandy color theme here. That is with the exception of the mirror above, and it painted oil rubbed bronze.
Please disregar the rose print sitting beside the credenza. I forgot to remove it before I took the photo. It is going upstairs in storage,I will pull it out again one day and use it. I tend to change things a lot in the house. I get bored fast! LOL

Tweaking the Kitchen Nook
Good Afternoon my friends! I have not updated my blog in a while. I have had plenty to blog about but no energy to post. I continue to struggle with my health issues. I am looking forward to a better year.
I look forward to a year of tweaking and creating and making my home into a warm and inviting place to be. I hope you enjoy the photos of my kitchen nook.
Kitchen Table
I needed a change in my kitchen. I had the red gingham curtains in there for two years that we have lived here. I decided to utilize some things I had on hand to make a mini redo in my kitchen nook.
I bought the black and white waverly table cloth at TJ Maxx several months ago. I had the lace table topper for many years. It was most likely a yard sale find. The white rooster butter dish and gravy boat was on clearance at Sears. I had the black bowl and decided to place a red candle. Instead of so much red in the kitchen, I thought just little pops with the black and white would be nice.
Please don't laugh or think I am cheap, I am just thrifty. I made these curtains from two twin size Dan River Bed Sheets. They are of very high quality. I lined them with another set of bed sheets that were not as high of quality. Both the Dan Rivers sheets and the other set of sheets were brand new in their packages. I found both sets of sheets at a yard sale for 50 cents.
The trim I found also at a yard sale for 50 cents.
I made these over Christmas Holidays. I took that whole week off, so I got a lot of sewing done that week. We did not have any guest for the Christmas Holiday.
