Happy Birthday to me!

Folks, I apologize up front about the tone of this post.So please feel free not to read this post. I certainly understand. I am sad. Its my birthday and my ex daughter in law sent me pictures of my sweet grandchildren. I am grateful for that.........but its like salt in a wound. I can't be with them, watch them grow up.........

Sometimes , I wonder what I am suppose to learn, being separated from my grandchildren. They say all things happen for a reason..........but I can't help but think........what good can come from being separated from two of the most important people in the world.
Yet I can't hate, my ex daughter in law...........I still love her. but I am angry at her..........It could have been different. Both parents and grandparents could be with the children had not her selfishness got in the way.
I am just so glad to see they are somewhat happy, only I can see the sadness in their eyes...........I wish I could be with all my family...........

I am missing so much of her little life!

A sweet little boy , who is growing up so fast.

A beautiful little far away from those who love her.

  5. I know this must be very difficult for you...they have to know how much you love them and miss them. I'm glad that you received some recent pictures...they are so adorable.
    Happy birthday to you:-)

  6. Susan,
Happy Birthday! I know this has to be hard. Maybe things are headed in the right direction since she sent you pics of your beautiful grandchildren. We will never know the answer why to so many things but hopefully one day things will be better.
    Big Hugs,

  7. Susan, You of all people (in your line of work) should know that "venting" about things like this is better for us, instead of "stuffing and storing" it all.
It is sad, frustrating and UNFAIR..but life in general is not fair as I am sure you hear from your clients everyday....from start to least that is what I have generally found.
What would really, REALLY be unfair is if she decided that she would not let them contact you AT ALL. I have met some grandparents who have NO IDEA where their grandkids are...or if they are well ahd happy, dead or alive.
I hope she does NOT know about your blog.

I have a good friend who turns "cartwheels", just to see her grandkids...because the mother is totally selfish, lazy, and demanding and shows NO apprecation for all that my friend does for the grandkids. Who live about 3 blocks from them. She babysits on "demand" at all times, to the point of changing HER plans at the last accomodate this SELFISH woman.... and she feeds the kids a good bit of the time as the mother does not want to "bother" to cook for them. The mother mostly takes them to McDonalds.
The mother is marrred, stay at home mom, with nothing MORE imporatnt than those children in her life....however, she keeps finding other ( more important ) things to do..than take care of these precious children like she should, so my friend DOES ! And if she did not ....she would never see the kids.
I am sad for all of you.

  8. I hope that you had a great birthday and a fantastic year. I am sorry that you are missing your beautiful grandchildren. : (
