50 cent finds! Projects!

Good Evening my friends in blogland!!
Its a rainy Monday in South Carolina!! But I love the rain! I wanted to share the few yard sale finds of the weekend.
Also, I have been doing some projects. So this is just a short post.

I want to make a note about blogging today. Some of you were posting , or somewhere in blogland I read this statement. You think it is rude to make small comments on bloggers post like: Very Nice! or Nice! and then post nothing else.
I have to say I am guilty of this. But just so you know I try to get around each day to my reading list and visit every blog that has posted.
Because I am so drained at the end of the day, a Very Nice is all I can get out. But I want to post something to let you know I visit your blogs. Just saying.

50 Cents Finds!!

This is a beautiful plate. It has its certificate of Authenticity. But wouldn't you know it, I chipped it bringing it in from the car!

I have a thing for wedding figurines! I just love this one!

A White birdie soap dish!

Fridgie #1:

Another Fridgie!

I made this basket out of an old Christmas container. It had snowflakes painted all over the tin. I painted it spice brown, added some ecru lace, a bow and a flower. Just because I could.......LOL

Inside the basket. The pearl necklace and earrings are both yard sale finds.

Upcycled Sweat Shirt or Maybe Not?
I know , I know these altered sweatshirt days have came and gone. What can I say I am a little behind the times. I am always looking for things to embroidery at yard sales. I found this sweat shirt for 50 cents and decided to upcycle it.
I sewed a Vintage doily in the center of the shirt and embroidered a rose on the center of the doily.geeeeeeeaz oh pete that is a long sentence.
I embroidered a rose on each shoulder.

Before: Do you remember this horse picture I found at the Yard sales. Well the white frame was not cutting it at this house. Sunday, my sweet hubby surprised me and painted it Oil rubbed Bronze.

After: I think it looks much better wearing Oil Rubbed Bronze. Our walls are eggshell so it will look much better on the wall painted this color

  1. The horse picture looks so much better with the oil rubbed bronze paint...makes it stand out and shout. Wonderful vintage finds, I love the pearl necklace and refrigerator dishes.

  2. I love ORB! What a difference it made on that frame...great job!!

  3. I love the rose plate what a sad it got chipped....

  4. Love all your finds! Oil rubbed bronze paint is the best!

  5. Hi Susan,
I have the same first plate in your pic. So sorry it got chipped. Maybe you can paint the chip to match.
Love all your great finds this post. You did a great job creating the bucket and the horse frame with rubbed oil bronze looks wonderful.
I love those fridge dishes. You also did a sweet job with the sweatshirt. Your roses are gorgeous.
    Have a great week.
    XO Celestina Marie

  6. What a sweet hubby to paint the frame for you. I like the new look.

  7. Fun finds Susan! And the frame came out great! I am not offended if someone just leaves a comment with a couple of words. At least that person took the time to comment. We are all so busy so, even a small nod is better than no nod. Have a wonderful day my friend!

  8. Oh my, what pretty finds! Have to say that my favorite one is that wedding figurine! Sorry you chipped your plate, it's is still beautiful! New follower :)

  9. What darling treasures you have found my sweet friend! I have chipped items as well, I find it helps to bring a tote along with wrapping paper to try to avoid that, but sometimes in all the excitement of treasure hunting it cannot be avoided. I have been thinking about your sweet grandbabies in the far away country how are you doing with all of that? Life always has challenges, huh. Anyhoo, thank your for visiting with me, I hope your week is lovely and blessed.

  10. Hey Susan!
I don't think short comments are rude, I feel like if someone takes the time to comment on my blog, I should be honored they took the time out of their day to speak to me! :)
That horse pic doesn't even look like the same pic with the orb paint on it! Looks great!
Hey...I hope you're not expiring...tomorrow will be a better day! lol

  11. Awwww how sweet of your hubby! it does look great in the oil rubbed bronze! Great finds at even better prices! I always enjoy seeing what treasures you've found. Vanna

  13. I admire your wonderful embroidery skill, Susan. I wish I could embroider so prettily. I love how you transformed that grey sweat shirt. So sweet of your husband to transform that frame with oil rubbed bronze, it makes the picture stand out beautifully. I loved the lacey vintage inspired box with the pearls... looks so dreamy and romantic. Thanks for sharing your creativity. So sweet of you to take the time and visit your reading list. Wish all of us had more time in a day to comment... it's just sometimes life gets in the way! Thanks for visiting me and leaving me such a sweet comment. Hope you are feeling better,Susan. THE RAVEN-and its shadow

  15. What a bummer about the chip, but from what I saw, I can't tell at all that it's chipped. And girl, if you love decorated sweatshirts than good for you! You did a marvelous job on the one you found. Did you hand embroider those roses? They are so pretty! All in all, you had some great finds.
