Shopping Hauls, Yard Sale Finds and Projects!

Good Evening my friends. I thought I would do this post as I will most likely not feel like being on the computer after tomorrow. Continue to pray for me, my surgery is tomorrow morning. It rained here all week end because of Hurricane Sandy. I hope all my northern friends will be safe and get through this storm. I am praying for every one. I went shopping to stay busy and keep my mind off my health. I thought I would share some of my purchases. I purchased other things, but I generally just share home decor here on my blog. I also wanted to share my projects. I did several this weekend as part of my therapy. Hope you enjoy! Marshalls I love the trim on these two little hand towels. I would have bought the complete set if they had the bath towels and clothes. They just had the hand towels and they were in the clearance section.
ROSS This bowl will be used as part of my Christmas decor and I will continue to use it after Christmas. I love the gold and brown together and it looks glittery.
KIRLAND HAUL I love glitter and I was so excited to find this Christmas glitter bird. I plan to buy about two more of these before Christmas. This bird also gave me and idea for a project. I plan to go to the Dollar Tree and purchase some birds. I will experiment with glittering with those birds. If I fail, well they would be just a dollar.
I absolutely love anything beaded. These will match my brown Christmas decor. I plan to put my brown decorations in the family room, sun room and dining room and foyer this year. I generally decorate with the red in those rooms.
This pear candle holder was in the clearance section at Kirkland's. It matches beautifull with the teacup and saucer below.
YARD SALE FINDS! This metal tea cup and saucer was an ugly ivory when I purchased it. I spray painted it with my beloved rubbed oil bronze. It really made a difference. It is fairly large I have a medium size candle inside the cup.
These two rooster plates were a dollar each. They will go very nicely with my collection of roosters.
FAMILY DOLLAR HAUL These two little bird pictures are so cute. However the white frames will not work in my house with all white walls. I will paint them oil rubbed bronze or maybe a spring color I have decided as of yet.
This red runner looks kind of tacky. It has cherubs or something attached on each end. Those will definitely come off, I will use them for other projects. The runner will be used at Christmas.
PROJECTS! I have changed my fall projects to making some Christmas things. I have had this fabric forever. I don't remember where I got it, most likely at a thrift store or yard sale. It just the right size for a king size pillow case. The lace trim at the bottom was already on the fabric. I decided to embroider some Christmas designs. I don't know who owns these designs. If you recognize your design work, please let me know and I will give you full credit. I love my embroidery machine and I take advantage of the freebie designs that I can down load from the internet.
These two lace purses were made from a young girls cape. It probably came from Forever 21 or someplace similar. I purchased at a yard sale. I just cut it up and made these purses. I used the trim that was along the bottom of the cape for the trim on the purse. The only thing I added to the small purse was some ecru lace and a fabric flower.
I am huge fan of the copper color. I bought this cigar box at a yard sale for 50 cents. I bought some glittered scrap booking paper and some glittered and beaded flowers at AC Moore, the other things I had in my stash.

  1. I love your stuff it's so Victorian looking! Love what you did to that box. I want to do more altered art but I'm a little intimidated by it. I've done some pieces, but each project scares me a little that I'm doing it wrong.

    1. JoJo, I don't think any project can "turn out wrong." It may not be as you expected but it will be special none the less. Be brave.
