Good Evening Blogger Friends. I have been busy!
I wanted to share with you some projects I did over the weekend. Also I have a few yard sale finds as well!
Those that know me, know I waste nothing that can be used for another purpose. Some call me cheap, some call me thrifty, some ask if I ever throw anything away. My answer to them is the more things that can be used in a creative way, the better off our planet.
Those jars, paper tags etc do not end up in a land fill somewhere.
What I can't use and is still useful, I take to Goodwill or give to someone else.
I do buy new things, but I also shop yard sales and thrift stores. But mostly I just have fun!! Hope you enjoy!
Projects!!
I did some shopping this weekend at the Ole Time Pottery. I found some curtains that the panels and the valances were attached. They were five dollars a pair. I have been wanting new valances for my sun room windows. I did not want to put drapes all the way to the floor. We like the windows open to let in the sun light. We can sit in there and watch the birds that come to the bird feeder outside.
What I did was cut the most part of the panels off. I left some of the panel the length of the valances. I then sewed the both seams of the valance and what is left of the panels. The panel made a liner for the valances and it gave it more of a designer look. I will use the fabric that is left over from the panels and make a table runner or some pillows. I try to not let anything go to waste.

I had an extra pair of curtains left after I made the valances. I decided to make a slip cover for my little stool.I have had this stool for over 10 years. It's a cheaply made one. I found it at Garden Ridge in Lexington Ky.

This box I bought at a Yard sale several months back. The background color of the box is original to the box. I just decided to embellish the top. The flowers, some were from Michael's I bought over time for different projects. There are some just regular flowers also that I had in my stash. It has a dark ecru heart doily underneath some of the embellishment. I don't remember where I got it, but I have had for a long time. The ribbon I found as an after Christmas sale at Michael's in January. I loved the color of the ribbon.

This is the inside of the box. As you can see I made a matching tag and placed it inside the box. The box is lined with srapbooking paper and ribbon. On the inside top of the box, I put some yellow dew drop roses and a Ashley butterfly from Micheal's.

I used two garment tags to make these tags. I use scrap booking paper that I had left from another project. The flowers, beads etc: came from my stash. I don't have a clue what I am going to do with all these tags. I have at least twenty or thirty different ones that I have made, just to create something.

Yard Sale Finds!
All of the fabric below I paid a dollar for each piece.
There are two huge pieces of this yellow fabric. I can see this being used in someway this Easter.

Check out the black polka dotted fabric. This piece will find its way as the cover of a piece of foam cushion. It will look nice on my bench in the entry way hall.
I have found my self drawn to the colors in this fabric in the middle. Our master bedroom is done in these colors, in a country Victorian kind of way.
I don't know what I will do with the cream fabric. I am sure I will find a use for it a sewing project of some sort.

I love clear cut glass. I found all three of these pieces at a yard sale this week end. I paid five dollars for all three.

Goodwill Find!
It is hard to see this gown or dress against the white shower curtain. I don't know which it is a gown or a dress. The tag does not look like a tag for sleep ware, so I am more inclined to say it is a vintage dress. I fell in love with all the lace. If get the nerve to cut it up, I will use the lace in projects.

This is the cuff of the sleeves. It has lace at the cuff and all the way up and down the sleeves.

This is an up close photo of the lace. This lace goes all the way down the length of the garment.
